About Us

Cheney Pulp & Paper manufactures pulp from a variety of natural fibers – including tobacco stalks, manila (industrial hemp), abaca, kenaf, jute, sisal, flax, and others – resulting in rag and specialty pulps, primarily for the paper industry. We do not produce wood pulps. In fact, our primary product is a high-quality, very clean, cotton-rag pulp, available in a variety of grades.

Many of our clients are extremely picky about the specialty papers they produce, so they’re also very choosy about the uniqueness and quality of their pulp. Many paper manufacturers who buy our pulp produce papers with unique security features.

Because our customers produce such unique papers – and insist on pulp quality and uniformity – we’re constantly researching new ways to improve our products, and to improve our processes.
